Real weddings are an infinite source of beauty, creativity and wedding ideas. From wedding fashion for the bridal party to the most romantic moments at the reception, allow your wedding planning to be inspired by Belinda and Lachlan’s big day.
Theme and location
Narmbool was an easy location choice for the couple. Botanic wedding style was at its best with its historic bluestone cottage, country charm and vibrant green gardens. “We wanted a quiet setting where we could have both the ceremony and reception at the same place and we both love the outdoors,” says Belinda. Real life weddings don’t come more chic and sophisticated than this!
Bride and bridesmaids' dresses
Belinda had always known that Anna Campbell would design her bridal gown having been a family friend and admiring her wedding dresses from afar for so long. This designer has a stellar reputation for luxury wedding style and original wedding fashion. “It was very special for me to wear one of her stunning dresses,” says Belinda. The bride’s four bridesmaids all wore Anna Campbell cocktail dresses in steel with the flowers attached to their dresses matching the flowers on Belinda’s own dress. Each bridesmaid was allowed to choose their own shoes, as long as they were silver, maximising comfort for the bridal party.
For Belinda, one of the most memorable parts of her special day was the presence of her grandparents. “My 86 year old Grandpa drove from Queensland. He joined us on the dance floor for a boogie,” says Belinda. Moments like these can’t be manufactured when it comes to real life weddings. A heartfelt touch for all the guests were the bomboniere of homemade love-heart shortbread made by the bride’s family and encased in spice jars. This proved to be the ultimate in wedding ideas as it was personal and unique.
