Title - Real-life Weddings

Mate Vulic and Rebecca ZabekRebecca 1

Date: 29 April 2006
Church: St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Summer Hill
Reception: Doltone House, Jones Bay Wharf

Bride's dress
Rebecca designed her ivory gown and it was made by Halo Bridal, Crows Nest, in silk satin with crystal Swarovski beading detail based on her jewellery. It was a fishtail silhouette with a fitted boned bodice. The neckline was sweetheart with a plunging crystal-lined back and stunning ruching detail.

Rebecca's shoes were handmade from ivory leather and snakeskin with a Swarovski crystal at the toe. Her headpiece replaced her crystal tulle 2m veil at the evening celebrations. It was also made by Halo Bridal.

Bridesmaids' gowns
The autumn wedding date inspired an autumn theme for the bridesmaids' dresses.

Rebecca 2Rebecca’s two maids of honour wore stunning olive green silk gowns and her three bridesmaids wore burnt rose coloured gowns. Each gown was designed by Rebecca to suit each of her bridesmaids. Each bodice was unique with a matching flowing bottom with two-tone silk chiffon inserts, and silk chiffon ruching at the waist.

The flower girls' gowns were designed to match Rebecca's, and were made from ivory silk satin with full crystal tulle skirts. They wore silk ballet slippers encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

The maids of honour, bridesmaids, flower girls and mother of the bride wore fascinators from Allanah Hill, matching their gown colours.

Groom and Grooms Men
The Grooms suit was from Paul Smith and the groomsmens suits were from Peppers Formal wear, Double Bay. The groom wore a black silk tie with decadent black patterns inset, and the groomsmens ties were classic black and ivory stripes.

Invitations
Rebecca [a graphic designer] designed and made the wedding invitations. They were constructed from a custom made acrylic box, with an romantic photo of Mate and Rebecca standing in an embrace under an autumn tree surrounded by leaves, printed on luxurious ivory metallic paper. The box contained a skeleton autumn leaf [matching the bridesmaids dresses]. On the reverse side were the details of the wedding printed on metallic ivory paper with a luscious feather pattern inset in the background. The box was wrapped in the same Rebecca 4metallic ivory paper with feather pattern, with Rebecca and Mates initials overlaid.Rebecca 4Rebecca 5

Cake

The cake was designed to match the wedding invitations. It was a three tier cake with hand painted metallic feathers [to match the invitation and feather fascinators worn by the Bride and her bridemaids] with ivory  lilies at the top and ivory autumn leaves falling to the base to represent the autumn theme. This masterpiece was created by award winner Karen Hill, Wedding Cake Art.

Photo locations
There were three photo locations which the bridal party were chauffered to in classic 1950s white convertible cadillacs. The bride and grooms car bore the number plate ‘just hitched’. The three photo locations included; botanical gardens, Martin Place, Walsh Bay.

The photos were created by brilliant photographers, Mark and Carol Pakula Photography.

Honeymoon
The bride and groom left the reception in a silver posche boxster and met close friends at Cockle Bay to continue the festivities into the early hours. Following an after party the next day with close family and friends, Rebecca and Mate spent 10 days at an exclusive couples only resort;  Tokoriki Island Resort, Fiji.
