How to add a little Magic (Mike) to your hen's night... and win movie tickets!

It's the movie that changed Ginuwine's "Pony" for us forever, and now the sequel we've been waiting three lllooonnnggg years for is here – Magic Mike XXL.
The original Magic Mike taught the world so much – Channing Tatum's life story (it's based on his pre-Hollywood days as a stripper in Florida), how to achieve just the right baby-oil-to-bicep ratio, and that director Steven Soderbergh can make any movie dark and arty, even one about male strippers. So needless to say, it didn't take long for Channing and co to become a regular fixture at hen's nights everywhere.

Now if you're looking to include a little Magic Mike in your own hen's party, we could just tell you to run out to your nearest strip joint and call it a day (or night), but it isn't quite as simple as that. Because if our other favourite movie, Harry Potter, has taught us anything, it's that you shouldn't mess with magic you don't understand. You need to know what you're in for, so we've ranked your options below, from a quiet DVD sesh at home to the full-blown live experience. Don't say we didn't warn you...

Magic Mike

If you're anything like us, you've already seen the first movie about 745 times, but if you can't take it for another spin on your hen's night, when can you? While we're pretty pumped to see what the sequel has in store, we know that it won't have Matthew McConaughey or Alex Pettyfer – and that's two good reasons to stick to the original right there. If you're keeping things low-key for your hen's night, all you need is the DVD, your best girlfriends, your fave snacks and a bottle of vino. Don't forget the penis straws.

Magic Mike XXL

We have it on pretty good authority there's even more hip thrusting and stage humping in Round Two, so if you're ready for some new routines then it's time to round up the girls and head to your nearest cinema, stat. In Magic Mike XXL, it's been three years since Mike left the stripper life behind, but the Kings of Tampa are getting back together for one last show-stopping performance... and you'll get to see it all on the big screen.

Magic Mike XXXXL

Done with the 2D version? It's time to go 3D... and no, this has nothing to do with those cardboard glasses. The boys in male revue showcase Princes of the Night have been doing their thing at Melbourne's Crown Casino for more than a decade now, and they've even created their very own Magic Mike-inspired segment. If you're not in Melbourne, check out Wild Boys Afloat in Sydney or Aussie Thunder in Brisbane for some IRL magic.
