Julia and Dominic's spring fling in the Southern Highlands

Julia and Dominic Southern Highlands spring wedding
This couple celebrated their romance with a storybook setting, a vibrant springtime colour scheme and plenty of personal touches.
With a venue as picture-perfect as Bendooley Estate in the NSW Southern Highlands, there's not a lot you have to do to make it amazing, but Sydney couple Julia and Dominic made sure their big day was all about them and their family and friends. In fact, the personal touches started with Dominic's proposal. "I cooked Jules' favourite dinner at home for her, and afterwards I asked her to be my wife," he says. "She said yes!"

After a garden ceremony in the grounds of the estate, the couple and their guests moved through to the Book Barn for a three-course, sit-down meal. "They kept all the bookshelves exposed, which was one of my favourite things," says teacher Julia. Afterwards, Julia and Dominic had their first dance to "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Ingrid Michaelson. "I got very emotional!" the bride laughs.

But the memorable moments didn't end there. "The best man gave a hilarious speech and brought out a life-sized cut-out of Dom at his buck's night," says Julia. "It was later seen on the dance floor!" To keep up the personalised theme, the couple sent all their guests home with individual mini photo magnets.
