The bride booked the venue first, and once she had chosen the perfect location, the theme of the day – the beach – came naturally. And with her beach theme securely in mind, Amy headed to designer Simonelli to find the perfect dress. Her elegant ivory silk gown was simple yet stunning and was accessoried with a veil and pearl earrings. Amy’s four bridesmaids wore light-blue coloured dresses from Garfunkle, accessorised with black waistbands. To complete the look the girls carried bouquets of ivory, light-pink and violet roses, which were designed by the bride’s cousin.

Amy and Dylan tied the knot on the beach outside the Sorrento Sailing Club. The bride hired a lush red carpet and a bamboo arch draped with white fabric to set the scene. The bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboys walked down the aisle to the traditional Canon in D, while Amy followed to the tune of Tracy Chapman’s The Promise.

After the ceremony, guests adjourned to the sailing club, which had been decked out in black and ivory. In the centre of each table sat sand-filled fishbowl vases, each with a candle sitting on a mirror with a decorative rock to reflect the beach theme. The rocks had words on them, like ‘Love’, ‘Friend’ and ‘Peace’ which were emphasises by the black and ivory bomboniere boxes, which were filled with chocolates and doubled as placecards for the guests.

As a twist, the couple cut their vanilla-and-chocolate-coated chocolate wedding cake as soon as they arrived at their reception. Music and dance also played a big part on the night. Amy says it was truly a breathtaking moment when Dylan sang a song he had written especially for her.

For their honeymoon, the couple planned a three-week trip to the USA, visiting New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
