Carryn says planning her dream wedding was relatively easy, with the exception of deciding where and when to get married. They knew they wanted something relaxed, low key, and on a beach, but it took the couple almost a year to find a location that suited the both of them.

With the help of wedding planner Jeanette Skelton, from Luxury Events Phuket, the couple decided on a romantic destination wedding in Thailand, and let Jeanette take care of all the little details.

To complement her relaxed beach wedding, Carryn decided her theme would be white elegance, with white roses and orchids the focus of the day. The bride was effortlessly chic in a white Wendy Makin gown she found at Marry Me Bridal. Six-months pregnant on her wedding day, the strapless, Grecian-style gown featured an empire waist and simple embellishments, which perfectly accentuated her blossoming figure.

The day of Carryn and Paul’s wedding was bright and clear. The Land of Smiles was on its best behaviour, with a warm summer breeze to complement the lush tropical surrounds. The couple and their 60 guests made their way to the warm, white sands of Surin Beach, one of Phuket’s prettiest stretches of coast, for the ceremony.
The couple’s wedding planner completely transformed the simple setting, scattering white orchids and white rose petals on the sand to form an aisle, which led to a bamboo arch, covered in white orchids.

The couple held their reception on the same spot on Surin Beach, overlooking the tranquil, blue water. Two long tables were set up on the sand under a bamboo structure, which was draped with white fabric and ball lights. Carryn’s theme of white elegance was carried through to the table centrepieces, which featured dainty white roses and orchids alongside delicate seashells. Their guests dined on a delicious Thai-style banquet and were entertained by traditional Thai performers, including a Thai fire dancer, before watching an impressive fireworks display.

Following their nuptials the couple and their guests spent the next 10 days relaxing at the Marriot Courtyard on Surin Beach with their family and friends.
