When Adriana and Matt were introduced, it was love at first sight. Despite only having five months to plan her special day, Adriana, an event coordinator, knew exactly what to do.
With a guest list of 270 people, Adriana knew her wedding would be large and formal. The largesse of the wedding wasn’t restricted just to guest numbers; the happy couple also had 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen.
In an unusual twist, the groom’s mother and sister picked out Adriana’s Raffaele Ciuca gown. Although she wasn’t sure about the design at first, she fell in love with it when she tried it on. The bridesmaids wore classic black cocktail dresses from Charmie, which were accessorised with blue sashes and black shawls, while the groomsmen were decked out in stylish black suits.
The bride chose a stunning bouquet of white and soft-pink roses, and added small Swarovski crystals and tiny blue flowers the roses as an extra touch.
With backgrounds in the hospitality industry, the food and service at their wedding was of great important to Matt and Adriana. The couple chose Melbourne’s Leonda by the Yarra for their reception, and chose an impressive menu that included prawns, oysters, duck risotto, roast chicken and an apple and rhubarb crumble.
Adriana says her first dance with her husband was one of the highlights of her wedding night. Practicing in secret for two and a half months, she and Matt had perfected an upbeat rock ‘n’ roll number to Elvis Presley’s Teddy Bear. The routine included lifts and twists, and surprised guests who were expecting a slow waltz.
Another surprise on the night was the appearance of entertainment company Krazy Bar, who delighted guests light sabres, colourful scarfs, crowns, bubble machines, floating tequila bars, limbo bars and martinis. The couple also set up a photobooth so guests could document their antics throughout the night.
