On a sunny Sunday, Matt romanced Carly with a picnic in the park. As they walked from their car, they noticed a bridal expo that was conveniently being held nearby. Carly knew something was up when Matt insisted she inspect one of the limousines on display. Matt proposed at the expo, much to excitement of the exhibitors!
Carly thought she knew exactly what style of dress she would wear on her wedding day, but when she tried on that style, it didn’t suit her. Unperturbed she kept looking and found the perfect gown, eventually finding a white, strapless Mori Lee gown, which fit perfectly.
Carly and Matt had planned to be married under a big tree in the Fitzroy Gardens. But on the day of their wedding torrential rain dashed their plans. They made a quick decision to move the ceremony to their reception venue, Fenix, situated on the banks of the Yarra in Richmond. Fenix’s floor-to-ceiling windows created the outdoor ambience the couple had hoped for.
Despite the inclement weather, Carly was so relaxed on the morning of her wedding it was hard to believe she was the one getting married. The significance of the day soon hit her though, and she spent the entire ceremony wiping the tears from her eyes.
Their reception venue was decked out with a dramatic display of yellow Singapore orchids and white rose petals. Guests dined on rich food and were entertained by funny and heartwarming speeches. Four-piece band, The Tone Tone Semitones set the scene for a fantastic night of dancing and merriment.
The couple personalised their day by giving their guests gifts of black-and-white stubby holders for the guys and chocolates for the girls. Carly’s matron of honour organised a canvas to replace the traditional guest book, and guests signed the picture of the couple, which has become a lasting memento of the day.
