Louise and Nick lived side by side as children, but hadn’t seen each other in five years when they met by chance at Turnbull Stakes Day.
With only six months to plan, Louise appreciated the experience of her mother and two married sisters. The bride’s Grecian-style dress with its glamorous long train was sketched by Louise’s sister, and based on a combination of styles. For her something old and something borrowed, the bride wore her grandmother’s mother-of-pearl earrings and borrowed her sister’s veil. To finish the look she added sequined Alan Pinkus shoes and carried a bouquet of cream roses.
Louise’s bridesmaids wore latte-coloured Wayne Cooper dresses and carried bouquets of champagne roses. Nick and the groomsmen wore stylish three-piece black suits from Prinzi. The groom’s tie was white and the groomsmen wore latte-coloured ties to match the bridesmaids.
Family friend Father Greg married the couple at Saint Vincent de Paul’s Parish Church in Strathmore.
Louise and Nick’s reception was a beautiful but laid-back affair held at the Members' Dining Room at Flemington Racecourse. Because it was winter, Louise chose candle centrepieces instead of flowers as the main decoration on the day, to add warmth to the room.
The menu complemented the warm colours and intimate environment of the room: hearty dishes of gnocchi for the entree and mains of beef and marinated chicken, followed by a rich pudding for dessert- a perfect winter feast!
