The text asked Vanessa to look out the window. She opened the blind and saw Anthony sitting on the fence with a single red rose, wearing a T-shirt that said, ‘Vanessa, will you marry me?’ Once she’d agreed, the couple didn’t stop smiling for weeks.

One of the first things Vanessa found was her wedding shoes .The bejeweled, silver shoes from Luiblu were a masterpiece but they weren’t your standard bridal shoe. After the shoes, Vanessa’s easiest decision was her gown. She had heard great things about designers Jason Grech and Harry Georgiou, from label Jason Grech White, which were instantly confirmed in her first meeting with them. The showstopping one-shouldered gown had a sweetheart neckline and fishtail skirt. The team at Jason Grech White created a stunning feature on the shoulder strap, a leaf detail made from Austrian crystal that sat atop the gathered silk georgette fabric.

Following a traditional ceremony at St Brendan’s Catholic Church in Flemington, guests made their way to Carousel at Albert Park. The couple opted for a dramatic modern look, decking the venue out with white and clear acrylic furniture. A contemporary, minimalist design was extended from the pattern on the cake to the stationery and placecards as well as on the couple’s wishing well – a birdcage. To top it all off, each table was decorated with a stunning centrepiece from Centrepiece By Design. Vanessa pulled out all stops to find the right centrepieces to not only suit Carousel’s modern interior, but her own vision. The crystal-drop adornments were simply perfect.
