An intimate wedding with some very unexpected guests

Except for a seal and a pod of wedding-crasher dolphins, this wedding had a grand total of three guests.
For their nuptials, Seema and Chris took their cues from a similar-minded couple, who ditched a big white wedding in favour of jetting off to Iceland. "To us this sounded like it suited us," says Chris. "Simple but very romantic. We are a very 'us' couple - we do a lot together by ourselves, and so this worked for us." With most of their families living overseas, a wedding with a two-person guest list also seemed to make sense. "We decided to tell very few people what we were doing until after the event. The theory was then they'd be surprised and happy, rather than disappointed that we didn't invite them." Rather than Iceland however, Seema and Chris chose to wed at Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island.

Organising their wedding only took two months, says Chris, and the couple were quick to lock in their celebrant, photographer and accommodation. Finding a way to get Seema's flowers from Adelaide to the island proved trickier, but the couple's celebrant brought over the bouquet with him the morning of the ceremony. Following their vows, the newlyweds headed to the Remarkable Rocks at Flinders Chase National Park to snap some photos.
