Why we love Overnewton Castle
Much like brides and white dresses, weddings and castles have a long history together. A stone-clad castle is a bride’s go-to for creating a wedding that matches every fairytale whim you’ve ever had. Overnewton Castle is a stately pile set on more than four acres of impeccable English gardens, with a history dating back to 1849.
With your wedding at this Scottish Baronial-style castle you can take your pick of ceremony location. That’s right, you’re not restricted to a certain area – you have the entire estate at your well-manicured fingertips
so you won’t be competing for space with other couples or have unexpected photo-bombers in your happy snaps. Choose from an al fresco service in the lush gardens, the original wrought-iron gazebo or the non-denominational chapel, which boasts hand-painted features and a glass ceiling. Inside, Overnewton Castle has one dining room for your reception, as well as a range of sitting rooms that can be used for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. The gardens can also be used for receptions.
The estate has three accommodation options. The cottage comes complete with a double spa bath, balcony and full kitchen; it sleeps six so is the perfect retreat for your and your ‘maids the night before your nuptials. And don’t worry about the boys, they can have their own digs too: the Loft has room for six guests, and the Stables can accommodate 10. The team at Overnewton Castle are all about giving you what you want, rather than you having what they think you should have, so wedding packages are flexible and can be catered to you.
